Energy production is essential for powering your operations in Structs. This guide explains how to convert Alpha Matter into energy using Reactors and Generators.
Understanding energy production is crucial for advanced gameplay in Structs.

Energy is ephemeral, it must be consumed immediately and does not accumulate (see Sharable Resources)

Energy (measured in watts/kilowatts) powers all structures in Structs. Energy is produced by converting Alpha Matter through Reactors or Generators. Unlike Alpha Matter, energy never accumulates so it must be used immediately or it's lost.
Ephemeral: Energy must be consumed immediately upon production. It cannot be stored or saved for later use.
Shared: Energy is shared across all structures connected to the same power source on your planet. All structures draw from the same energy pool.
Reactors are the safe, reliable method of converting Alpha Matter to Energy. They provide Guilds and other enterprising players a 1g:1kW conversion rate with low risk. Unlike Planetary Structs with Generating capabilities, Reactors (and the Alpha infused to them) cannot be destroyed.

Reactors (a.k.a. Validators) are also the validating software that monitors and progresses gameplay! Reactors are real-life servers with important in-game roles.
